The FAU Open Research Challenge starts soon

Bewerbungsschluss: Mid-April 2015 (approximately)

Anbieter: Friedrich Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU), Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG)

Zielgruppe: Young researchers worldwide who specialize in three of the FAU´s major research areas, such as Digital Forensics, Discrete Optimization and Photonic Technologies.

This April, Germany’s Friedrich-Alexander-University Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU) invites young scientists from around the world to enter the first ever FAU Open Research Challenge.

Funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG), the global online contest offers exciting opportunities for ambitious academics. The FAU invites scientists to tackle interesting questions at the forefront of information technology, optics, or applied mathematics in energy research.

They also have the chance to network and collaborate in international teams, probing their ideas and skills in this solution-oriented, research-driven competition. The winners will receive an all-expenses paid trip to visit FAU, develop their concepts further while networking with their peers and present their work at a high-profile public event in the Nuremberg Metropolitan Region.

The submitted answers will be judged by a panel of experts in the respective fields. The three winning teams will be invited for a week-long stay in Erlangen-Nuremberg in October 2015, during which they are welcome to visit relevant research groups and laboratories at FAU, discuss their solutions, explore possibilities for future collaboration or career development, get to know the cultural and culinary highlights of Germany and Bavaria, and finally present their work at the popular science festival “Long Night of Science.”

The online platform will go live beginning of April, the challenges will be published online by mid-April. Stay tuned! If you wish to be informed about the launch, please sign up below and we will send you an email when the day arrives:
